Music Quarter Design, Poole

ARC552 Future Scenarios

This project looks at Poole as if there was a population decline, the design is for a new Music Quarter in Poole to attract more people to the town, the design connects the current high street with The Lighthouse art centre which is home to the famous Orchastra. Since there has been a population decline, this new street will be made using recycled materials from the many abandoned building in Poole, the street will be three storeys in height with shops on the bottom two floors and living quarters on the top, the shop owners will be drawn to this street because of the living area above the shop and roof garden. The shops spread over two floors with balconies overlooking the street, this is so that a lively atmosphere is achived as with New Orleans, busking, trade stalls and festivals will be highly encouraged. The ideas within this project were presented using material and digital montages, CAD plans and drawings.
